About

From September 2010, I am studying “Applied Theatre (Drama in the Community and Drama Education)” at the Central School of Speech and Drama in London. Here, I will update you regularly on all workshops, lectures, conferences, individual and group sessions I am following throughout the year.

Throughout my life, theatre has offered me – and still offers me – unlimited imagination and expression of my most inner thoughts and feelings, regardless of where I am and where I’m from. Therefore, choosing Applied Drama as a Masters is a direct result of my personal mission, stating that in my life, I wish to give people access to all that theatre has given me.

Furthermore, my background as an academic researcher, teachertrainer and consultant over the past years has made me realise there is great potential in the combination of my professional skills and my creative background in theatre. I am eager to learn how to further develop and combine these two!

I’m quite intrigued by your blog and as someone starting his Masters in Theatre, I too want to move forward in the world of applied drama, but here in the states.

  • Sleydesdorff

Hi Max, thanks for your nice comment! Great to hear you’re entering this amazing field too… Where about in the States are you?

Hello Susan,  are you still in London?  Check  out my book  at http://www.interactiveimprov.com/   and  you’ll see that we have many common interests.  I’d like to network more with  the faculty  there and others who share this interest. Hello Adam! Thank you for your comment and interesting link! I like the content there a lot, especially regarding your ideas on improv and risk, and also the relation with psychodrama. I graduated last autumn and moved back to Amsterdam (Holland) where I m from, but I have shared your work on our class Facebookpage. Do get in touch with the applied theatre Faculty of Central School of Speech and Drama, they are doing some fab work! Sincerely, Suzan
